Visit our forthcoming Open Event
GREEN CDT will be hosting an open event in the Spring giving you the chance to meet with key academics and students on the programme.
For further information email: GREEN@manchester.ac.uk.
Applicants should have, or expect to obtain, a UK undergraduate honours degree or international equivalent, or a first degree with an additional master's degree or international equivalent.
Applications open in November. We do not specify a formal deadline for submitting an application to the CDT, however we encourage applicants to apply as early as possible. Typically all available places are filled by the end of March.
If your application is successful you will be invited to attend an interview where you will have the opportunity to meet the team, learn more about the training programme and undergo a formal interview with academic supervisors.
Please ensure that you read and follow the application instructions below.
To apply for the GREEN CDT, please send your full name, your email address and a brief CV to GREEN@manchester.ac.uk.
Fully funded places are available to UK and EU nationals resident in the UK for more than 3 years. A small number of funded places are also available to EU nationals not currently resident in the UK.
International students are welcome to apply if they receive external scholarships, or are on a self-funded basis.
For exceptionally academically strong international students with proven research potential (eg published papers or evidence of significant contribution to research projects) the CDT may be able to assist with applications to Manchester scholarships such as:
- China Scholarship Council and The University of Manchester's Joint Scholarship Programme for PhD study
- President's Doctoral Scholar Award
- FSE Dean's scholarships
Details of these scholarships can be found on the Faculty of Science and Engineering website.
The CDT may also be able to give provisional offers to be used in national scholarship applications.
There may be alternative funding opportunities available for international students and for more information on this, please visit the University's international student funding advice page.
