Nuclear Energy - GREEN CDT

Researcher holding up test tube to inspect

Business engagement

Our work is conducted in close collaboration with the key stakeholders within the UK nuclear sector and the wider nuclear community from all over the globe.

Real experience

Due to the nature of this type of research many of our projects will give our students the opportunity to work on secondment, not just in the UK but around the world at key research facilities within the private, public and academic sectors.

Our research covers all aspects of nuclear fission; including areas such as policy, support clean-up of the historical nuclear legacy and geological disposal of radioactive wastes.

Working with industry partners gives our students the opportunity for unparalleled access not just to five of the country’s top research institutions but also innovative industrial research and development from all aspects of the field.

The majority of our students not only will have an experienced academic supervisory team, but also co-supervision from an industrial partner, whom can often provide unique guidance into the practical application of their research within a real world setting.
